Dear Companions,

I’d like to personally thank Companion William Melnyk for preparing our program for last month’s meeting. Companion Melnyk led us in a review of the lesson of the Widow’s Mark, which reminds us of our commitment to Charity. Since we are scheduled to confer the Mark Master Mason Degree this month, it was appropriate to remind ourselves of the lesson taught to us in that degree of Capitular Masonry. Companion Melnyk also presented the Charity Plan prepared by the Charity Committee. The plan provides a framework and process to help us achieve our Charity goals. The plan can be found on the Howell Chapter website.

This month we will be honored by the visitation of John P. Humphreys, DDGHP of the Third Capitular District. The District Deputy will honor those Companions of Howell Chapter that have reached their 50th Capitular Birthday this year. This will be the first visit to our Chapter by the District Deputy in his new role, so I hope that all the Companions will attend the meeting, welcome him, and wish him luck in his new role.

We will also be conferring the Mark Master Mason Degree on several candidates. With spring upon us, the emergence of new growth reminds us of the glory of life and enlightenment. It is a rare opportunity that we get to recognize the dedication of our senior Companions and, in the same evening, introduce new brethren to the lessons Capitular Masonry. My thanks to those Companions that signed their petitions and offered to help those Master Masons continue on their path to enlightenment.

Again, I hope that you all will come to the April meeting and share in this wonderful event.

Fraternally,

Gerard R. Sealy, M.E.H.P.
